Job Description:

MSC Cruises is currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team as Cruise Ship Security Officers. As a Security Officer on board our cruise ships, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our passengers, crew, and assets. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide a visible security presence throughout the cruise ship to deter and detect security threats, unauthorized access, and criminal activities.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and access control systems to identify and respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies.
  • Conduct security screenings of passengers, crew members, and visitors as they embark and disembark the ship.
  • Enforce security policies and procedures, including access control, crowd management, and emergency response protocols.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and complaints, and prepare accurate and detailed reports for management and law enforcement authorities.
  • Collaborate with shipboard departments, port authorities, and law enforcement agencies to coordinate security operations and response efforts.
  • Assist in the training and development of crew members on security procedures, emergency preparedness, and crisis management.
  • Maintain proficiency in first aid, CPR, fire-fighting techniques, and other emergency response skills.

Education and Qualification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification is required; additional training in security, law enforcement, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in maritime security, military, law enforcement, or a similar role is highly desirable.
  • Valid security certification or license may be required, depending on local regulations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and adapt to different cultural norms and practices.
