Job Description:
Etihad Rail is seeking a qualified and experienced Train Controller to join our team in Dubai. The Train Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of train services by monitoring and controlling train movements, coordinating with train crews and other departments, and responding to emergencies and incidents as needed.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor train movements and track conditions using computerized signaling and control systems.
- Coordinate the dispatching and routing of trains to ensure adherence to schedules and operational requirements.
- Communicate with train crews, station staff, and maintenance teams to coordinate arrivals, departures, and service disruptions.
- Monitor and respond to signals, alarms, and alerts indicating track obstructions, equipment malfunctions, or other safety hazards.
- Implement emergency procedures and protocols in response to incidents such as accidents, derailments, or unauthorized intrusions.
- Maintain accurate records of train movements, delays, and incidents, and prepare reports for management and regulatory authorities.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations, maintenance, and safety, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of train services.
- Provide guidance and support to junior train controllers and other operational staff as needed.
Education and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, transportation management, or a related field.
- Previous experience as a train controller or dispatcher in a rail or transportation environment.
- Proficiency in operating computerized signaling and control systems.
- Knowledge of railway operations, safety regulations, and emergency procedures.
- Strong communication and decision-making skills.
