Job Description:

The USDA is seeking a diligent and organized Human Resources Assistant to join our team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. This position is essential for providing administrative support to the Human Resources department, ensuring efficient operations and helping manage employee-related services. Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job vacancies, screening applications, scheduling interviews, and coordinating with candidates.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Prepare and process HR documentation such as employment contracts, onboarding materials, and termination paperwork.
  • Support HR managers in conducting orientation sessions and training programs for new employees.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Help organize and manage HR events and initiatives, such as workshops, health fairs, and employee recognition programs.
  • Perform general office duties, including filing, data entry, and managing HR-related correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Participate in HR projects and contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes.

Education and Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an HR administrative role is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with HR software and databases is a plus.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
